01:00:16:14 01:00:17:22 This is an NBC News special 01:00:18:17 01:00:19:24 presentation of Today with 01:00:20:13 01:00:22:05 Savannah Guthrie. 01:00:22:23 01:00:24:08 Tonight, Donald Trump in the 01:00:24:23 01:00:26:15 arena, his first primetime network 01:00:26:22 01:00:28:09 appearance since falling ill with 01:00:28:10 01:00:29:07 coronavirus. 01:00:29:08 01:00:30:06 I'm feeling great. 01:00:30:07 01:00:31:06 I don't know about you. How is 01:00:31:11 01:00:32:05 everyone? 01:00:32:06 01:00:33:23 With tonight's debate canceled, the 01:00:34:03 01:00:35:14 president faces our questions 01:00:36:01 01:00:37:07 live and hears from voters 01:00:37:24 01:00:39:07 about their concerns in the 01:00:39:16 01:00:41:02 battleground state of Florida. 01:00:41:08 01:00:42:22 It's great to be back in my home 01:00:43:03 01:00:44:24 state for to 01:00:45:00 01:00:46:21 make my official return to 01:00:46:22 01:00:47:21 the campaign trail. 01:00:48:07 01:00:49:22 With just 19 days to 01:00:50:06 01:00:51:17 go, the president makes his 01:00:52:06 01:00:53:17 case. My goal is to fight for 01:00:54:04 01:00:56:01 you and fight for your 01:00:56:17 01:00:57:17 family. 01:00:58:11 01:00:59:18 NBC News 01:01:00:18 01:01:02:08 decision. Twenty twenty President 01:01:02:14 01:01:03:24 Trump Town Hall. 01:01:04:07 01:01:05:19 Live from the Perez Art Museum 01:01:06:05 01:01:08:03 in Miami, here's Savannah 01:01:08:18 01:01:09:18 Guthrie. 01:01:10:05 01:01:11:02 And good evening. 01:01:11:03 01:01:12:07 It's good to have you with us today. 01:01:12:08 01:01:14:08 Welcome to Miami and our town hall 01:01:14:15 01:01:15:25 with President Donald Trump. 01:01:16:00 01:01:17:05 We want to say right off the top, 01:01:17:06 01:01:18:19 this is not how things were supposed 01:01:18:20 01:01:20:05 to go tonight. This was supposed to 01:01:20:06 01:01:21:16 be a town hall debate between 01:01:22:09 01:01:23:17 Donald Trump and Joe Biden. 01:01:23:23 01:01:25:11 But after the president contracted 01:01:25:25 01:01:27:07 covid, the debate commission 01:01:27:08 01:01:28:15 announced it would have to be a 01:01:28:16 01:01:30:11 virtual debate because of health 01:01:30:25 01:01:32:08 concerns. The president said he 01:01:32:09 01:01:33:24 would not participate in a virtual 01:01:34:00 01:01:35:23 debate. At that point, Joe Biden 01:01:35:24 01:01:37:04 scheduled a town hall tonight in 01:01:37:05 01:01:38:18 Pennsylvania on another network. 01:01:38:19 01:01:40:04 And now the president is doing the 01:01:40:15 01:01:42:05 same, his own town hall with the 01:01:42:10 01:01:44:13 same venue, format and time as NBC's 01:01:44:14 01:01:46:10 town hall with Joe Biden last 01:01:46:16 01:01:48:09 week. So the two candidates go head 01:01:48:16 01:01:50:03 to head tonight, though not face to 01:01:50:04 01:01:52:13 face each in a key battleground 01:01:52:22 01:01:53:20 state. And tonight, the president 01:01:53:21 01:01:55:08 will be taking questions from voters 01:01:55:09 01:01:56:24 here in Miami, who we should 01:01:57:06 01:01:58:09 mention, are socially distanced and 01:01:58:10 01:01:59:09 they're wearing masks. 01:01:59:10 01:02:01:03 And I should say this audience looks 01:02:01:04 01:02:02:03 a bit like America, it is 01:02:03:01 01:02:04:11 divided. Some here voted for the 01:02:04:12 01:02:06:08 president in 2016 and plan to 01:02:06:09 01:02:07:22 again some support Joe 01:02:08:06 01:02:09:23 Biden. And some say they are truly 01:02:10:18 01:02:11:12 undecided. We're going to get a mix 01:02:11:13 01:02:13:03 of questions on a range of topics 01:02:13:06 01:02:14:00 and we're going to get to those 01:02:14:01 01:02:15:02 questions in a moment. 01:02:15:03 01:02:17:08 But first, with all that ado, 01:02:17:15 01:02:18:13 welcome, Mr. President, and thank 01:02:18:14 01:02:19:06 you for being here. 01:02:19:07 01:02:20:07 Very well stated. 01:02:20:08 01:02:21:10 I have to say good job. 01:02:21:17 01:02:22:19 Thank you. 01:02:22:20 01:02:23:25 We're glad you're here with. 01:02:24:16 01:02:25:21 Well, we had our best to the first 01:02:25:22 01:02:26:21 lady and Baron. 01:02:27:01 01:02:28:19 Thank you. Do you have any remaining 01:02:28:20 01:02:29:19 symptoms from covid? 01:02:29:21 01:02:31:13 Nothing whatsoever. 01:02:31:14 01:02:32:13 I feel good. 01:02:32:16 01:02:34:02 I was in North Carolina today 01:02:34:22 01:02:37:03 and did a big rally with tremendous 01:02:37:15 01:02:38:19 turnout. And I just feel 01:02:39:11 01:02:40:11 really good. 01:02:40:19 01:02:41:23 Florida, Pennsylvania, we're all 01:02:41:24 01:02:43:23 over the place. It's been great. 01:02:44:09 01:02:46:03 You receive some treatments that are 01:02:46:04 01:02:47:20 generally reserved for those with 01:02:48:02 01:02:49:20 the most severe form of the 01:02:50:08 01:02:51:10 disease. How severe were your 01:02:51:11 01:02:52:14 symptoms in particular? 01:02:52:20 01:02:54:11 Did you have pneumonia? 01:02:54:15 01:02:55:24 I'll tell you what happened. 01:02:55:25 01:02:56:24 I didn't feel good. 01:02:57:00 01:02:57:24 I didn't feel strong. 01:02:58:03 01:02:59:14 I had a little bit of a temperature. 01:02:59:15 01:03:01:05 The doctors at the White House are 01:03:01:23 01:03:02:23 fantastic, as you can imagine, and 01:03:03:12 01:03:04:22 they really didn't want to take a 01:03:05:10 01:03:06:13 chance. And they said, let's go to 01:03:06:14 01:03:07:23 the hospital. I said, that's OK. 01:03:07:24 01:03:09:21 I'm going to respond to what you 01:03:10:06 01:03:12:08 say. And we went over to Walter 01:03:12:15 01:03:13:15 Reed, where you have tremendous 01:03:14:07 01:03:15:07 professionals. They gave me 01:03:15:08 01:03:16:20 Regeneron and Remdesivir 01:03:17:16 01:03:18:16 both. And I just all 01:03:19:12 01:03:21:07 I know is I felt good the following 01:03:21:12 01:03:22:16 day. I felt really good. 01:03:22:17 01:03:23:24 Did the doctors ever tell you that 01:03:24:00 01:03:25:13 they saw pneumonia on your 01:03:25:20 01:03:26:03 lungs? 01:03:26:04 01:03:27:24 No, but they said the lungs are a 01:03:28:00 01:03:29:07 little bit different, a little bit 01:03:29:16 01:03:31:08 perhaps infected. 01:03:32:18 01:03:33:16 Infected it with? 01:03:33:17 01:03:35:03 I don't know. I mean, I didn't do 01:03:35:04 01:03:35:24 too much asking. 01:03:36:00 01:03:36:24 I really felt good. 01:03:37:09 01:03:39:07 I didn't have much of 01:03:39:08 01:03:40:09 a problem with the lungs. 01:03:40:10 01:03:41:09 I did have a little bit of a 01:03:41:24 01:03:42:24 temperature. 01:03:43:04 01:03:44:07 Obviously, I felt there was something 01:03:44:20 01:03:46:03 missing. And then I tested. 01:03:46:06 01:03:47:06 You know, I tested positive. 01:03:47:11 01:03:48:22 Let's talk about testing because 01:03:49:02 01:03:50:18 there's a little bit of, I guess, 01:03:50:19 01:03:51:20 confusion about this. 01:03:51:21 01:03:52:23 And I think we can clear it up. 01:03:52:24 01:03:53:22 And there shouldn't be. 01:03:53:23 01:03:55:17 Your first positive test was 01:03:56:07 01:03:58:04 Thursday, October 1st. 01:03:58:21 01:04:00:18 When was your last negative 01:04:01:01 01:04:02:07 test? When did you last remember 01:04:02:08 01:04:04:11 having a negative test? 01:04:04:16 01:04:05:21 Well, I test quite a bit. 01:04:05:22 01:04:07:14 And I can tell you that before the 01:04:07:25 01:04:09:06 debate, which I thought it was a 01:04:09:07 01:04:11:02 very good debate and I felt 01:04:11:03 01:04:12:08 fantastically I was I had 01:04:12:24 01:04:13:24 no problem before. 01:04:14:05 01:04:15:23 Did you test the day of the debate? 01:04:15:24 01:04:17:06 I don't know. I don't even remember. 01:04:17:07 01:04:18:02 I tested all the time. 01:04:18:03 01:04:19:08 But I can tell you this 01:04:19:23 01:04:21:17 after the debate, 01:04:22:01 01:04:23:16 like, I guess a day or so I think 01:04:23:25 01:04:25:12 it was Thursday evening, maybe even 01:04:25:13 01:04:27:05 late Thursday evening. 01:04:27:15 01:04:28:15 I tested positive. 01:04:29:10 01:04:30:13 That's when I first found out. 01:04:30:25 01:04:32:02 Back to the debate because the 01:04:32:03 01:04:33:12 debate commission's rules, it was 01:04:33:13 01:04:35:06 the honor system that you would come 01:04:35:13 01:04:36:13 with a negative test. 01:04:36:15 01:04:37:23 You say you don't know if you've got 01:04:37:24 01:04:38:23 a test on the day of the debate? 01:04:38:24 01:04:40:02 I have no problem, again, the 01:04:40:03 01:04:41:13 doctors do it, I don't ask them, I 01:04:41:24 01:04:42:24 test all the time. 01:04:43:00 01:04:43:22 And they. 01:04:43:23 01:04:45:07 Did you take a test on the day of 01:04:45:08 01:04:45:14 the debate? 01:04:45:15 01:04:47:04 If you ask the doctor to give you a 01:04:47:05 01:04:48:04 perfect answer? 01:04:48:05 01:04:49:20 They take a test and I leave and I 01:04:49:21 01:04:50:20 go about my business. 01:04:50:21 01:04:52:02 Did you take a test on the day of 01:04:52:03 01:04:52:11 the debate? 01:04:52:12 01:04:53:11 I probably did. 01:04:54:06 01:04:55:24 And I took tests the day before and 01:04:56:01 01:04:56:20 the day before. 01:04:56:21 01:04:58:13 And I was always in great shape and 01:04:58:18 01:05:00:20 I was in great shape for the debate. 01:05:00:21 01:05:02:11 And it was only after the debate, 01:05:02:24 01:05:04:12 like a period of time after the 01:05:04:20 01:05:06:16 debate that I 01:05:06:24 01:05:07:24 said, that's interesting. 01:05:07:25 01:05:09:09 And they took it, tested it, tested. 01:05:09:13 01:05:11:02 Just button it up, do you take a 01:05:11:08 01:05:12:15 test every single day? 01:05:12:19 01:05:14:07 No, no. But I take a lot of tests,. 01:05:14:08 01:05:15:19 OK, and you don't know if you took a 01:05:15:20 01:05:17:00 test the day of the debate? 01:05:17:15 01:05:18:13 Possibly I did. 01:05:18:14 01:05:19:10 Possibly I didn't. 01:05:19:11 01:05:20:14 But, you know, the doctor's very 01:05:20:15 01:05:21:14 accurate information. 01:05:21:23 01:05:23:15 And it's not only that doctors, many 01:05:24:02 01:05:25:13 doctors, the one thing as if you're 01:05:26:02 01:05:27:05 president, you have a lot of doctors 01:05:27:06 01:05:28:06 you're surrounded by. 01:05:28:17 01:05:30:10 But I was in great shape for the 01:05:30:21 01:05:32:17 debate. And sometime after the 01:05:33:03 01:05:34:13 debate, I tested positive and 01:05:35:07 01:05:36:20 that's when they decided to let us 01:05:37:01 01:05:37:11 go. 01:05:37:12 01:05:38:09 OK, good. 01:05:38:10 01:05:39:17 I've hopefully provided some clarity 01:05:39:18 01:05:40:23 for folks. Let's talk about the 01:05:40:24 01:05:42:04 event that was held at the White 01:05:42:05 01:05:43:18 House on the Saturday before you 01:05:44:01 01:05:44:24 tested positive. 01:05:45:00 01:05:46:01 Subsequent to that, 13 01:05:46:23 01:05:48:15 people connected to that event 01:05:49:00 01:05:50:00 tested positive. 01:05:50:01 01:05:51:14 There was an outdoor reception. 01:05:51:21 01:05:53:11 You've seen the pictures there is an 01:05:53:12 01:05:54:11 indoor reception. 01:05:54:16 01:05:55:23 People were not wearing 01:05:56:14 01:05:58:03 masks. My question to you is, at 01:05:58:13 01:06:00:06 this point in the pandemic, knowing 01:06:00:21 01:06:02:10 what we know, shouldn't you have 01:06:02:17 01:06:03:20 known better? Shouldn't the White 01:06:03:21 01:06:05:02 House know better than to hold an 01:06:05:03 01:06:06:02 event like that? 01:06:06:03 01:06:07:04 Well, they do a lot of testing in 01:06:07:05 01:06:08:06 the White House. They test 01:06:08:17 01:06:09:15 everybody, including me, but they 01:06:09:16 01:06:11:12 test everybody and 01:06:11:15 01:06:12:15 something happened. 01:06:12:16 01:06:14:09 But as far as the mask is concerned, 01:06:14:10 01:06:15:09 I'm good with masks. 01:06:15:13 01:06:16:11 I'm OK with this. 01:06:16:12 01:06:17:17 I tell people wear masks. 01:06:17:18 01:06:19:04 But just the other day, they came 01:06:19:05 01:06:20:06 out with a statement that eighty 01:06:20:07 01:06:21:14 five percent of the people that wear 01:06:21:15 01:06:23:01 masks catch it. 01:06:23:05 01:06:24:19 So I 01:06:25:02 01:06:27:05 know, but that's what I heard 01:06:27:06 01:06:28:07 and that's what I saw. 01:06:28:08 01:06:29:08 And regardless. 01:06:29:15 01:06:31:06 But everybody's tested and they 01:06:31:07 01:06:32:06 tested often. 01:06:32:13 01:06:34:00 And I also knew 01:06:35:02 01:06:36:08 that, hey, I'm president. 01:06:36:13 01:06:38:15 I have to see people I can't be 01:06:38:16 01:06:40:08 in a basement. I can't be in a 01:06:40:18 01:06:41:13 room. I can't be. 01:06:41:14 01:06:42:10 I have to be out. 01:06:42:11 01:06:43:17 You can see people with masks though 01:06:44:10 01:06:44:14 right? 01:06:44:15 01:06:45:12 I can. 01:06:45:13 01:06:47:12 But people with masks are catching 01:06:47:13 01:06:48:06 it all the time. 01:06:48:07 01:06:49:10 I mean, if you look at the governor 01:06:49:11 01:06:51:03 of Virginia, he was known for a 01:06:51:14 01:06:52:19 mask. If you look at Thom Tillis, a 01:06:52:20 01:06:54:09 great guy, he always had a mask and 01:06:54:10 01:06:55:02 they caught it. 01:06:55:03 01:06:56:02 Well, there are pictures of Thom 01:06:56:13 01:06:58:02 Tillis, actually with one of Judge 01:06:58:05 01:06:59:15 Barrett's kids not wearing a mask. 01:06:59:16 01:07:01:02 But, you know, Chris Christie, he 01:07:01:03 01:07:02:10 was part of your debate prep. 01:07:02:11 01:07:03:25 Yeah, he was, I believe, at that 01:07:04:07 01:07:05:08 event. He came out tonight. 01:07:05:09 01:07:06:05 He was very sick. 01:07:06:06 01:07:07:09 He was in the hospital for about a 01:07:07:16 01:07:09:09 week. I came out tonight and said 01:07:09:14 01:07:11:00 I was wrong not to wear a 01:07:11:14 01:07:12:14 mask. 01:07:13:03 01:07:14:10 Well, I mean, he has to say that I 01:07:14:11 01:07:15:12 think it's great. He's a friend of 01:07:15:19 01:07:16:22 mine. He's a good guy. 01:07:16:23 01:07:18:21 And wrong or not 01:07:19:03 01:07:20:10 wrong, you have to understand, as 01:07:21:00 01:07:22:06 president, I can't be locked in a 01:07:22:07 01:07:23:20 room someplace the next year and 01:07:24:05 01:07:25:10 just stay and do nothing. 01:07:25:12 01:07:27:15 And every time I go into a crowd, 01:07:27:22 01:07:28:24 I was with the parents 01:07:29:18 01:07:30:18 of our fallen heroes. 01:07:31:21 01:07:33:13 These people are the most incredible 01:07:33:25 01:07:35:15 people. And they came up to me and 01:07:35:16 01:07:37:04 they would hug me and they would 01:07:37:10 01:07:38:17 touch me and I'm not going 01:07:39:14 01:07:41:05 to not let them do it. 01:07:41:06 01:07:42:16 There was an event with the Gold 01:07:42:17 01:07:44:05 Star was basically way after the 01:07:44:13 01:07:45:12 Supreme Court,. 01:07:45:13 01:07:47:04 Our event with the most incredible 01:07:47:05 01:07:48:16 people you've ever seen. 01:07:48:21 01:07:50:04 And I could have chosen not 01:07:50:17 01:07:52:11 to talk to them or to keep everybody 01:07:52:14 01:07:54:08 away. You know what, as 01:07:54:14 01:07:56:06 I don't think that's probably where 01:07:56:07 01:07:57:20 it was caught, but maybe it was 01:07:57:21 01:07:58:01 something. 01:07:58:06 01:07:59:09 You bring it up, you brought it up 01:07:59:10 01:08:00:18 because I mean, are you trying to 01:08:00:19 01:08:02:05 suggest that you believe a grieving 01:08:02:06 01:08:03:08 military family gave you covid? 01:08:04:08 01:08:05:19 No, I don't know where it came from. 01:08:05:20 01:08:07:00 You don't know where it came from. 01:08:07:01 01:08:08:17 And the doctors don't know where it 01:08:08:18 01:08:09:12 came from. 01:08:09:13 01:08:11:03 But as the president, I have to be 01:08:11:11 01:08:12:08 out there. I also know... 01:08:12:09 01:08:13:17 There's no one that says you can't 01:08:13:18 01:08:14:20 be out there, but it's just about 01:08:14:21 01:08:15:22 wearing masks and having, for 01:08:16:05 01:08:17:14 example, your rallies, your rallies 01:08:17:15 01:08:18:12 don't require masks. 01:08:18:13 01:08:20:03 Now let's see, 01:08:20:09 01:08:21:14 Kamala. She's got people now that 01:08:21:15 01:08:23:16 people have it and I'm not blaming 01:08:23:22 01:08:24:23 her. I'm not saying, oh, she did a 01:08:24:24 01:08:25:24 terrible thing. 01:08:26:05 01:08:27:20 As president, I have to be out 01:08:28:01 01:08:29:08 there. I can't be in a 01:08:29:22 01:08:30:24 basement. I can't be locked in a 01:08:31:00 01:08:32:14 very beautiful room someplace in the 01:08:32:15 01:08:34:05 White House. And I want to see the 01:08:34:06 01:08:35:22 Gold Star families and I want to see 01:08:36:10 01:08:38:03 everybody. And I also say to people 01:08:38:13 01:08:40:17 all the time, it's risky doing 01:08:40:20 01:08:41:20 it. It is risky to do it. 01:08:43:01 01:08:44:04 You're right. You don't want to you 01:08:44:05 01:08:45:20 want to be a leader, but you also 01:08:45:23 01:08:47:04 are a leader and set of an 01:08:47:19 01:08:48:23 example. And if you're not wearing a 01:08:48:24 01:08:50:08 mask when your administration is 01:08:50:09 01:08:51:23 saying best practice right now is 01:08:52:02 01:08:53:21 wear a mask, no, it's not foolproof. 01:08:53:22 01:08:54:24 But many, 01:08:55:20 01:08:57:20 many people are getting this disease 01:08:57:21 01:08:59:11 that was sent to us by China and it 01:08:59:12 01:09:00:11 shouldn't have been allowed to 01:09:00:20 01:09:02:07 happen. But many people are getting 01:09:02:14 01:09:04:15 this. And I mean, nobody is being 01:09:05:03 01:09:06:18 blamed. Everybody is working hard to 01:09:06:19 01:09:08:04 get this thing out of our 01:09:08:18 01:09:10:02 country, get it out of the world. 01:09:10:03 01:09:11:14 Look at what's going on in Europe. 01:09:11:15 01:09:12:14 Massive spikes. 01:09:13:02 01:09:14:08 They've done a very good job. 01:09:14:09 01:09:15:19 But now you take a look today at the 01:09:15:20 01:09:17:09 U.K. You take a look at Spain and 01:09:17:14 01:09:18:14 France and Italy. 01:09:18:25 01:09:20:15 This tremendous spikes that... 01:09:20:19 01:09:22:04 Our death rate is worse than, well, 01:09:22:18 01:09:23:06 not Spain. 01:09:23:07 01:09:24:15 But I have things right here 01:09:25:06 01:09:26:16 that will tell you exactly the 01:09:27:04 01:09:28:04 opposite. The U.K. 01:09:28:13 01:09:30:01 is up two thousand five hundred 01:09:30:02 01:09:31:04 percent because I knew you'd be 01:09:31:05 01:09:32:19 doing this. I know you very well. 01:09:32:20 01:09:34:07 The UK is up two thousand five 01:09:34:15 01:09:36:08 hundred percent to EU is 01:09:36:15 01:09:38:13 up seven hundred twenty two percent 01:09:38:21 01:09:40:15 and the United States is down twenty 01:09:40:21 01:09:41:13 one percent. 01:09:41:14 01:09:42:21 But we have, our deaths per 01:09:43:09 01:09:45:04 capita is among the highest 01:09:45:18 01:09:46:18 and... 01:09:47:03 01:09:48:19 Excess mortality, we're a winner 01:09:49:01 01:09:50:05 of the excess mortality. 01:09:50:19 01:09:52:19 And what we've done has been amazing 01:09:52:21 01:09:54:18 and we have done an amazing job 01:09:55:00 01:09:56:19 and it's rounding 01:09:56:25 01:09:58:16 the corner and we have the vaccines 01:09:58:17 01:10:00:01 coming and we have the therapies 01:10:00:12 01:10:01:22 coming. And I'll tell you what - one 01:10:02:07 01:10:03:17 thing when I got it, 01:10:04:04 01:10:05:19 I had a choice, do nothing or use 01:10:05:25 01:10:07:07 some of the things that we're 01:10:07:08 01:10:08:17 looking at like in this case, 01:10:08:18 01:10:09:20 Regeneron and Eli Lilly 01:10:10:12 01:10:12:01 make something that's supposed to be 01:10:12:16 01:10:13:10 incredible. 01:10:13:11 01:10:15:04 And I think that maybe I wouldn't be 01:10:15:07 01:10:17:07 doing this discussion with you right 01:10:17:15 01:10:18:17 now. We have therapies 01:10:19:12 01:10:21:02 now and cures - maybe you can use 01:10:21:08 01:10:22:15 the word cure - but we have 01:10:22:16 01:10:24:17 therapies that are absolutely 01:10:24:18 01:10:24:23 incredible. 01:10:25:06 01:10:26:05 I want to pick up on something you 01:10:26:06 01:10:27:06 just said. You said were rounding 01:10:27:15 01:10:28:07 the corner. 01:10:28:08 01:10:29:02 I believe we're roundg the corner yes. 01:10:29:03 01:10:30:23 Now 10 percent of the country 01:10:30:24 01:10:32:07 approximately has had covid. 01:10:32:14 01:10:33:19 That means 80, 90 percent 01:10:34:09 01:10:35:24 - 90 percent, let's do the math - is 01:10:36:06 01:10:37:20 still vulnerable, right. 01:10:37:23 01:10:39:13 There's been some talk, including 01:10:39:14 01:10:41:00 from the White House lately, that 01:10:41:01 01:10:42:11 perhaps it approves of what's 01:10:42:25 01:10:44:00 called herd immunity. 01:10:44:07 01:10:45:20 That's where you basically just 01:10:46:03 01:10:47:19 let young people and everybody get 01:10:48:05 01:10:49:09 sick. You try to protect the old 01:10:49:10 01:10:50:20 people and those who are sick. 01:10:50:21 01:10:52:04 And hopefully it gets up to a 01:10:52:05 01:10:53:22 certain level and now we're all 01:10:54:09 01:10:55:17 immune. So let's just be clear about 01:10:55:19 01:10:57:05 it. It also means more deaths. 01:10:57:21 01:10:59:23 Do you support herd immunity 01:10:59:24 01:11:01:05 as a strategy, essentially 01:11:01:21 01:11:03:15 just let people get sick? 01:11:04:12 01:11:05:12 The cure can not be 01:11:06:10 01:11:08:12 worse than the problem itself. 01:11:08:16 01:11:10:02 We did the right thing. 01:11:10:06 01:11:11:25 We were expected to lose two million 01:11:12:09 01:11:13:19 two hundred thousand people and 01:11:13:20 01:11:14:24 maybe more than that. 01:11:15:04 01:11:16:07 We're at two hundred and ten 01:11:16:08 01:11:17:01 thousand people. 01:11:17:02 01:11:18:05 One person is too much. 01:11:18:06 01:11:19:05 It should have never happened 01:11:19:06 01:11:20:05 because of China. 01:11:20:07 01:11:21:17 It happened because of China. 01:11:22:04 01:11:23:13 And you have to get that and 01:11:23:18 01:11:24:18 understand that. 01:11:24:23 01:11:26:11 But it shouldn't have happened. 01:11:26:12 01:11:28:00 But we were expected to lose - if 01:11:28:01 01:11:29:20 you look at the original charts from 01:11:29:21 01:11:31:13 original doctors who are respected 01:11:31:19 01:11:32:19 by everybody, two 01:11:33:15 01:11:34:24 million two hundred thousand people. 01:11:35:00 01:11:36:14 Four million figure, though, if you 01:11:36:18 01:11:38:10 really two million people, the two 01:11:38:18 01:11:40:11 million figure is if you did 01:11:40:16 01:11:42:04 absolutely nothing, it would be 01:11:42:14 01:11:43:19 two million Westernness. 01:11:44:04 01:11:45:25 Should the deaths be 01:11:45:26 01:11:47:14 better than two hundred thousand 01:11:47:16 01:11:48:21 when relative to the rest of the 01:11:48:22 01:11:49:21 world we have a worse death rate? 01:11:50:18 01:11:51:23 I'll tell you what is happening. I left North Carolina, 01:11:51:24 01:11:52:22 which I love. 01:11:52:23 01:11:53:22 I left 01:11:54:18 01:11:56:10 Pennsylvania. We won a big case in 01:11:56:12 01:11:58:08 Michigan because that governor has 01:11:58:14 01:12:00:14 a lockdown where nobody 01:12:00:15 01:12:01:24 but her husband can do anything. 01:12:02:00 01:12:03:13 He can go boating and do whatever he 01:12:03:20 01:12:05:01 wants, but nobody else can. 01:12:05:02 01:12:06:13 The fact is, we're winning all these 01:12:06:14 01:12:09:00 cases because it's unconstitutional 01:12:09:01 01:12:10:04 what they're doing. And I think 01:12:10:05 01:12:11:07 they're doing it for political 01:12:11:18 01:12:12:25 reasons. But the fact is, the 01:12:13:15 01:12:15:02 cure - you can't you can't let 01:12:15:14 01:12:16:22 this continue to go on with the 01:12:17:08 01:12:18:19 lockdown. Well, I believe that on 01:12:18:22 01:12:20:12 November 4th, you're gonna have a 01:12:20:16 01:12:21:19 lot of these governors look at 01:12:21:20 01:12:22:21 what's happening to New York. 01:12:22:22 01:12:23:22 New York is a mess. 01:12:24:11 01:12:26:06 They lost almost forty thousand 01:12:26:14 01:12:27:23 people. They have a lockdown like 01:12:27:24 01:12:28:23 you've never seen. 01:12:28:24 01:12:30:07 Now they're open. It's like a ghost 01:12:30:08 01:12:30:09 town. 01:12:30:16 01:12:31:11 Let's keep up. 01:12:31:12 01:12:33:02 And Savannah it's very important. 01:12:33:08 01:12:34:25 People are leaving New York 01:12:35:09 01:12:37:04 by the thousands and 01:12:37:19 01:12:39:06 you're gonna have a hard time ever 01:12:39:07 01:12:40:16 building it up again. 01:12:41:05 01:12:42:14 So that cure, that so-called 01:12:43:07 01:12:44:23 cure that you talk about, it can't 01:12:45:10 01:12:46:19 be worse than the 01:12:47:09 01:12:48:11 problem. The problem is a bad 01:12:48:12 01:12:48:15 problem. 01:12:49:01 01:12:50:04 We've got more questions on COVID, 01:12:50:05 01:12:51:10 so let's drop it for now. 01:12:51:24 01:12:53:03 We were supposed to as mentioned be 01:12:53:08 01:12:55:06 watching you on a debate stage right 01:12:55:15 01:12:56:12 now. 01:12:56:13 01:12:57:17 We're not doing that. So let's clear 01:12:57:18 01:12:59:06 up a few things from the last one. 01:12:59:07 01:13:00:21 You were asked point blank to 01:13:00:22 01:13:02:10 denounce white supremacy. 01:13:02:16 01:13:04:17 In the moment you didn't. 01:13:04:18 01:13:06:08 You asked some follow up questions - 01:13:06:09 01:13:07:22 who specifically? A couple of days 01:13:07:23 01:13:09:18 later on a different show, you 01:13:09:19 01:13:11:20 denounced white supremacy. 01:13:11:25 01:13:13:18 And you is you've done this why 01:13:13:19 01:13:15:16 everybody seem like I denounce 01:13:15:17 01:13:16:16 white supremacy. 01:13:16:25 01:13:17:25 OK, you try to downplay. 01:13:18:04 01:13:19:11 I denounced white supremacy for 01:13:20:04 01:13:21:05 years, but you always do it - you 01:13:22:01 01:13:23:15 always start off with the question. 01:13:23:16 01:13:25:04 You didn't ask Joe Biden whether 01:13:25:14 01:13:26:22 or not he denounces Antifa. 01:13:27:14 01:13:29:10 I watched him on the same basic show 01:13:29:11 01:13:30:18 with Lester Holt and he was 01:13:31:08 01:13:33:04 asking questions like Biden 01:13:33:05 01:13:33:21 was a child. 01:13:33:22 01:13:34:17 Well, so this is a little bit of a dodge. 01:13:34:18 01:13:36:01 Are you listening, I dennounce white supremecy. What's your next 01:13:36:02 01:13:36:06 question? 01:13:36:07 01:13:37:19 Do you feel, it feels sometimes like you're hesitant to do so, like, you 01:13:37:20 01:13:38:00 wait a beat. 01:13:38:01 01:13:39:13 Hesitant? Here we go again. Everytime - in fact my people came - I'm sure 01:13:39:14 01:13:40:21 they'll ask you the white supremacy question. Here we go again, 01:13:40:22 01:13:41:06 everytime, in fact. 01:13:41:07 01:13:47:23 Every time, in fact. But people came. I'm sure they'll ask you the white supremacy question. I denounced white supremacists. And frankly, you want to know something. I denounce AntiFa and I denounce these people on the left that are burning down our cities that are run by Democrats who don't know what they're doing. 01:13:47:24 01:13:53:14 Alright, while we're denouncing, let me ask you about. QAnon it is this theory that Democrats are a satanic pedophile ring and that you are the savior of that. Now, can you just once and for all state that that is completely not true? And disavow QAnon in its entirety? 01:13:53:15 01:13:54:03 I know nothing about QAnon. 01:13:54:04 01:13:54:12 I just told you. 01:13:54:13 01:13:59:05 I know very little. You told me. But what you tell me doesn't necessarily make it fact. I hate to say that I know nothing about it. I do know they are very much against pedophilia, they fight it very hard. But I know nothing. 01:13:59:06 01:14:00:11 They believe it is like a car run by the other day subject. 01:14:00:12 01:14:05:05 I'll tell you what I do know about. I know about Antifa and I know about the radical left. And I know how violent they are and how vicious they are. And I know how they're burning down cities run by Democrats, not Republicans. 01:14:05:06 01:14:07:16 Republican Senator Ben Sasse said, quote. QAnon is nuts. And real leaders call conspiracy theories conspiracy theory. 01:14:07:17 01:14:08:09 He may not just say it's not true. 01:14:08:10 01:14:11:18 He may be right. I just don't know about you. And on you do now. I don't know. No, I don't know. I don't know. Let me ask you about it. Let's waste a whole show. 01:14:11:19 01:14:14:10 You start off with white supremacy. I denounce it. You start off with something else. Let's go. Keep asking me these questions. 01:14:14:11 01:14:14:19 I have one more. 01:14:14:20 01:14:17:10 Let me just. Let me just tell you what I do hear about it is they are very strongly against pedophilia. And I agree with that. 01:14:17:11 01:14:22:05 I mean, I do that and I agree there is not a satanic pedophile. No, no. No doubt about that. OK. No, I don't. I mean, do you know. OK. Just this week he writes asking me about an TIFA. Why are you asking the radical in your life? 01:14:22:06 01:14:24:14 Why aren't you asking Joe Biden questions about why doesn't he condemn antifa? Why does he say it doesn't exist? 01:14:24:15 01:14:25:10 Because your hair is known to soak it in. 01:14:25:11 01:14:28:07 AnTifa exists. They're vicious. They're violent. They kill people and they're burning down our cities and they happen to be radical left. 01:14:28:08 01:14:32:13 Just this week, you retweeted. You're 87 million followers, a conspiracy theory that Joe Biden orchestrated to have SEAL Team six, the Navy SEAL Team Six killed to cover up the fake death of bin Laden. 01:14:32:14 01:14:33:18 Now, why would you send a lie like that to your followers? 01:14:33:19 01:14:36:14 That was a retweet. That was a an opinion of somebody. And that was a retweet. I'll put it out there. People can decide for themselves. 01:14:36:15 01:14:37:21 Like someone's crazy uncle. He doesn't really mean whatever. 01:14:37:22 01:14:42:22 That was a retweet. And I do a lot of retweets. And frankly, because the media is so fake and so corrupt. If I didn't have social media, I don't call it Twitter. I call it social media. I wouldn't be able to get the word out and the word... 01:14:42:23 01:14:43:08 But the word is false. 01:14:43:09 01:14:47:05 But you know what the word is? The word is very simple. We're building our country stronger and better than it's ever been before. And that's what's happening. And everybody knows it. 01:14:47:06 01:14:48:02 OK, we've got a bunch of questions for you. 01:14:48:03 01:14:49:20 The word is we're winning in a lot of states. We're winning in a lot of states. [. 01:14:49:21 01:14:54:01 Let me. OK. I'm glad you brought up the election because I do want to ask about that. That's another kind of leftover item. A lot of people have asked you, will you accept a peaceful transfer of power? 01:14:54:02 01:14:57:23 You have said repeatedly the only way we lose this election is if it is rigged. Now, that is simply not true. The fact is, either candidate can lose fair and square without ballot fraud. 01:14:57:24 01:14:58:02 Right. 01:14:58:03 01:14:59:03 And so will you accept the results of the election? 01:14:59:04 01:15:05:04 Well, I want it to be. But when I see thousands of ballots, right. Unsolicited ballots being given out by the millions and thousands of them are dumped in dumpsters. And when you see ballots with the mail drop military ballots from our great military and they're dumped in garbage cans. 01:15:05:05 01:15:07:11 That is a handful we could go all night, which we won't know that day one by one, a single case a single day. 01:15:07:12 01:15:09:18 You're talking about 150 million votes. Your own FBI director says there is no evidence of widespread fraud. 01:15:09:19 01:15:26:12 Oh really, that he's not doing a very good job. All you have to do is pick up the papers every day. Fifty thousand in Ohio, the great state of Ohio. Fifty thousand in another location, I think North Carolina. Five hundred thousand applications in Virginia. No, no. There's a tremendous problem. But let me just tell you, they talked about the peaceful transfer, right? They spied on my campaign and they got caught and they spied heavily on my campaign and they tried to take down a duly elected sitting president. And then they talk about, will you accept a peaceful transfer? And the answer is, yes, I will. But I want it to be an honest election. And so does everybody else. When I see thousands of ballots dumped in a garbage can and they happen to have my name on it. I'm not happy about that. 01:15:26:13 01:15:29:12 But just in case, there is no there is, in fact, no evidence of widespread fraud. And you were sowing doubt about our democracy, our democracy. 01:15:29:13 01:15:29:23 How can you say that? 01:15:29:24 01:15:31:12 You do read newspapers. You watch the news, you read. I do watch you. I do. 01:15:31:13 01:15:33:07 Because every day they're talking about ballots that are corrupt, that are fraudulent. 01:15:33:08 01:15:34:07 And millions that are being processed right now. 01:15:34:08 01:15:35:24 But you can win the race. Take a look at me. You can win a race by one percent. 01:15:36:00 01:15:37:04 But why are you laying the groundwork for that right now? 01:15:37:05 01:15:39:00 I don't want my husband and I say my ankles. You know, Rob, I don't want that to happen. 01:15:39:01 01:15:48:12 Savannah, I wanted to be clean. I really feel we're going to win. But I want this to be clean. Let's get it's sort of ironic that you and them talk about the peaceful transfer when I spent three and a half years fighting off these maniacs and now it turns out everything's there, that they were the ones that dealt with Russia. And it's too bad. A peaceful transfer, I absolutely want that. But ideally, I don't want to transfer because I want to win. 01:15:48:13 01:15:54:09 And I think that your words will probably reassure some folks. Let's get to our first voter. We've got Jaqueline Lugo. Now she is I told you this. This audience is truly split between y'all. You are leaning Biden. She voted for Clinton in 2016. She's registered as an independent. 01:15:54:10 01:15:57:06 Jacqueline, what's your question for the president? And you hold the mike up close and take off your mask as it's hard to figure out here. 01:15:57:07 01:15:57:23 Good evening. Welcome to Miami. 01:15:57:24 01:15:58:11 Thank you, it's beautiful. 01:15:58:12 01:15:59:25 Mr President. If you knew Covid 19, as you told Bob Woodward in February. 01:15:59:26 01:16:00:04 As what? 01:16:00:05 01:16:05:15 As you told Bob Woodward in February, was airborne and deadlier than the flu. Why did you only put in place a travel ban from China and not put in place other measures, mitigating the spread of Covid 19, potentially saving tens of thousands of American lives? 01:16:05:16 01:16:26:18 Well, I didn't put it in very early. As you know, Joe Biden was two months behind me and he called me xenophobic and racist and everything else because I put it in and it turned out that I was 100 percent right. I also put it on Europe very early because I saw there was a lot of infection in Europe. And it's sort of an amazing question. And I appreciate the question and respect the question. But the news doesn't get out the right answer because I put on a travel ban far earlier than Dr Fauci thought it was necessary, who I like, far earlier, that the scientists I was actually the only one that wanted to put it on, and I did it actually against the advice of a lot of people, including Nancy Pelosi, who had no clue what she was doing. And Biden, when I put on the travel ban, you know, I put it on in January, the end of January, when I put on the travel ban, Joe Biden and and others said, this is ridiculous. You don't do that. Well, Dr. Fauci, you said I saved thousands and thousands of lives. 01:16:26:19 01:16:26:22 Did you? 01:16:26:23 01:16:28:05 I was barely I was extremely early when I put on the travel ban. 01:16:28:06 01:16:31:21 Can I ask you, did your national security adviser on January 20th in the Oval Office warn you that this would be the greatest National Security risk of your administration? 01:16:31:22 01:16:31:22 No. 01:16:31:23 01:16:32:16 He didn't say or you don't remember? 01:16:32:17 01:16:34:17 I remember I read it someplace. Maybe Woodward said it or something. But no, he did not say that. 01:16:34:18 01:16:38:02 But I knew it was a big threat. At the same time, I don't want to panic this country. I don't want to go out and say everybody is going to die. Everybody's got... 01:16:38:03 01:16:39:05 Isn't there a middle ground. But you can. No, no, no. 01:16:39:06 01:16:41:08 There's not a middle ground. You have to be safe. You have to be vigilant. And you have to be smart. 01:16:41:09 01:16:49:15 You're going to like this next couple of voters and a mom and a daughter. Mom, Barbara voted for you in 2016. She's leaning toward vote for you again. Now, her daughter was too young to vote last time. She's going to vote for her first time in a presidential campaign. And she is leaning Biden. So imagine the dinner table at their house. So, Barbara, why do you go first and ask your question? 01:16:49:16 01:17:00:14 Bienvenido en Miami. Thank you, Mr. Trump, as a frontline E.R. doctor working through the Corona virus pandemic. I know firsthand and I've seen that many hospitals throughout the United States are suffering financial hardships. These economic effects are trickling down to the frontline workers. We are being...Across the country, frontline workers are being fired or being furloughed. Our salaries are being cut. And this is also happening in other economic sectors as well, including the travel industry and hospitality. 01:17:00:15 01:17:00:17 Right. 01:17:00:18 01:17:03:09 My question to you is, how are you going to get the United States back on track, both in terms of the economy and the pandemic? 01:17:03:10 01:17:17:09 So it's happening. We just had a record eleven point four million jobs. We are going to have a phenomenal third quarter, which will be announced on November 1st, just prior to the big November 3rd day. We're thinking this is a red wave, but we're going to have a tremendous announcement, I believe. I mean, we're going to find out. But GDP is going through the roof. Jobs, real estate, houses, so many things are happening. So people were saying we're going have a forty two percent unemployment. Look, this was a thing that came into our country and it happened 100 more than 100 years ago and it happened now that we're talking about a 42 percent unemployment rate. 01:17:17:10 01:17:18:03 Who was talking about it I heard 20%. 01:17:18:04 01:17:24:23 It just came out at seven point eight percent unemployment and people can't even believe it. Our economy is going to be next year if we don't have somebody that raises taxes and quadruples taxes, which they want to do, and kills everything, our economy is going to be phenomenal. Next year. We're going to have a phenomenal. 01:17:24:24 01:17:40:17 And I'll tell you, Savannah, we had the greatest economy in the history of our country last year, including the state of Florida where we are now and Pennsylvania, North Carolina, every place with the greatest economy we ever had, we had to close it down. We saved two million lives. We're opening it up. We have a V shape and it's coming back. It's coming back very fast. One other thing, we really help the hospitals. We've sent billions and billions of dollars to the hospitals. In addition, hundreds of millions of masks and gowns. And we went into the ventilator business because this country was not equipped with ventilators. And I'm not blaming anybody for it. But we're now making thousands of ventilators a month and we have all we can use. 01:17:40:18 01:17:43:25 We're sending them all over the world because the world needs them. So they've worked very hard and really very, very effectively. Thank you. Great question. 01:17:43:26 01:17:45:11 Let's talk to Isabella, put the mic close to your mouth. OK. Go ahead. 01:17:45:12 01:17:53:20 Mr. President, my parents are, as you heard, both frontline health care workers. And I've seen the physical and the mental toll that this pandemic has taken on them firsthand, as well as the exacerbation of coronavirus due to Americans who are not wearing masks or participating in social distancing. After contracting CVOID 19 yourself, has your opinion changed on the importance of mask wearing? 01:17:53:21 01:18:08:10 No, because I was OK with the masks. I was good with it, but I've heard many different stories on masks. I mean, I had, you know, being president, you have people, they bring meals, they bring this. And I had an instance recently where a very wonderful person is bringing me a meal and he's playing with his mask and he's touching his mask all over the place. And then he's bringing a plate in. And I'm saying, well, I don't know if that's so good. I mean, the good news, I didn't eat it, OK? I didn't I decided not to eat it. This was a month ago. But look, you have on the masks - you know, you have two stories. You have a story where they want, a story where they don't want. I am all for it. 01:18:08:11 01:18:16:01 I don't get that because it's just - all of your public health officials, your administration, they're in unison about this. They're all in unison about it. University of Washington, which is a sta - is a - they have a model that your coronavirus task force relies on, says that if everyone wore a mask, you could cut expected deaths in half, sixty thousand lives. 01:18:16:02 01:18:16:25 And then you have other people that disagree. 01:18:17:00 01:18:17:13 Well what does that mean? 01:18:17:14 01:18:20:01 Scott Atkins, if you look at Scott, Dr. Scott, he's from - great guy - Stanford. He will tell you he disagrees with you. 01:18:20:02 01:18:20:21 He's not an infectious disease expert. 01:18:20:22 01:18:22:15 Oh, I don't know. Look, he's an expert. He's one of the great experts of the world. 01:18:22:16 01:18:27:03 But I don't get it because you have so much power and influence as president. You could go to your - you could require it at your rallies and you could say "Everyone put on a mask right now" and you would say lives. 01:18:27:04 01:18:30:04 You have University of Washington, and you have other places say different things. You have a lot - hey, Dr. Faucci said don't wear a mask right? 01:18:30:05 01:18:30:23 At first, but then everybody agreed. 01:18:30:24 01:18:34:06 Well, I don't know that he changed his mind. But then you have a report coming out two days ago that eighty five percent of the people wearing masks catch it. 01:18:34:07 01:18:36:05 I looked at that report. It's not about mask wearing. It was neutral on the question of masks. 01:18:36:06 01:18:37:18 Savannah, we're on the same side. I say wear the mask. I'm fine with it. 01:18:37:19 01:18:37:19 OK. 01:18:37:20 01:18:38:21 I have no problem with it. We're on the same side. 01:18:38:22 01:18:40:08 Let's take a break. We're going to get more questions right after this. 01:30:29:05 01:30:30:05 We're back. We're live 01:30:31:07 01:30:32:21 In Miami with President Trump for a 01:30:32:22 01:30:33:21 town hall. 01:30:34:04 01:30:35:18 Live in Miami with President Trump 01:30:35:19 01:30:36:12 for a town hall. 01:30:36:13 01:30:37:13 Thank you again, Mr. President. 01:30:37:14 01:30:39:02 We've another voter now, Kristi 01:30:39:22 01:30:41:06 Alonzo, come on out, Kristi. 01:30:41:07 01:30:43:04 She is leaning slightly towards 01:30:43:07 01:30:45:04 you. She says she voted for you 01:30:45:05 01:30:46:10 in 2016. 01:30:46:14 01:30:47:23 Kristi, you ready? Take the mask 01:30:48:05 01:30:49:00 off, hold the mic close and let's hear 01:30:49:01 01:30:50:05 your question. 01:30:50:06 01:30:51:10 Thank you for your service, Mr. 01:30:51:11 01:30:51:15 President. 01:30:51:23 01:30:53:02 Thank you very much. 01:30:53:03 01:30:54:23 We're a hardworking middle class 01:30:54:24 01:30:55:22 family of four. 01:30:55:23 01:30:56:24 My husband and I are both 01:30:57:00 01:30:58:05 self-employed and we have 01:30:58:22 01:31:00:07 to get our own individual health 01:31:00:16 01:31:02:11 care. As you know, health care costs 01:31:02:15 01:31:04:02 have gone up considerably over 01:31:04:19 01:31:05:19 the decades. And you 01:31:06:17 01:31:07:20 had originally said you were going 01:31:07:21 01:31:09:15 to repeal and replace Obamacare. 01:31:09:18 01:31:11:07 What is your plan now in 01:31:11:16 01:31:13:02 2020 to make health care costs 01:31:13:17 01:31:15:10 affordable for Americans like 01:31:15:21 01:31:16:11 myself? 01:31:16:12 01:31:17:23 So we got rid of the individual 01:31:17:24 01:31:19:16 mandate on Obamacare, which was the 01:31:19:17 01:31:20:22 worst part of Obamacare. 01:31:20:24 01:31:22:05 And now you could actually say it's 01:31:22:06 01:31:23:25 not Obamacare because that's how big 01:31:23:26 01:31:25:06 it was. Well you had to pay a 01:31:25:07 01:31:26:20 fortune for the privilege of not 01:31:26:22 01:31:28:22 having to pay for bad health 01:31:29:10 01:31:30:14 insurance. So we got rid of that. 01:31:30:15 01:31:31:21 That was a big, big thing. 01:31:32:07 01:31:33:20 And by doing that - and we will 01:31:34:03 01:31:35:19 always have - by the way, we're 01:31:35:21 01:31:37:22 always protecting people with 01:31:37:23 01:31:39:17 pre-existing conditions and I can't 01:31:39:18 01:31:40:20 say that more strongly. 01:31:41:02 01:31:42:20 But we've been able to bring health 01:31:42:21 01:31:44:25 care costs way down. 01:31:45:09 01:31:47:06 Now, I took over Obamacare, got 01:31:47:07 01:31:48:24 rid of the individual mandate, made 01:31:49:00 01:31:50:20 it, good managed, much better. 01:31:50:23 01:31:52:10 Remember, they had the five billion 01:31:52:11 01:31:54:18 dollar website disaster 01:31:54:24 01:31:56:21 and all of the problems they had. 01:31:57:02 01:31:58:25 The problem with Obamacare, it's not 01:31:59:08 01:32:00:22 good. We'd like to terminate it. 01:32:00:24 01:32:02:15 And we want a much less expensive 01:32:03:09 01:32:05:02 health care that's a much 01:32:05:05 01:32:06:23 better health care and that's where 01:32:07:04 01:32:09:03 we're aiming. And if we can do that 01:32:09:04 01:32:10:18 and we have a very good chance of 01:32:10:19 01:32:11:24 doing it - but we've also 01:32:12:18 01:32:14:24 brought down the price of Obamacare. 01:32:15:03 01:32:16:22 Problem with Obamacare, it basically 01:32:17:03 01:32:18:11 is never going to be great. 01:32:18:17 01:32:20:13 And I want to give great health 01:32:20:14 01:32:21:13 care. It's so important and thank you very much. 01:32:22:25 01:32:24:02 Mr. President I've gotta follow up on the preexisting 01:32:24:03 01:32:25:04 conditions. This is such a big issue 01:32:25:05 01:32:25:21 for voters. 01:32:25:22 01:32:27:01 It is a big issue for me too. 01:32:27:02 01:32:28:14 In point of fact, your 01:32:28:15 01:32:30:03 administration is about to go to the 01:32:30:04 01:32:31:22 Supreme Court to argue, to throw out 01:32:31:24 01:32:33:08 the rest of Obamacare, which 01:32:33:21 01:32:35:05 includes the protections for 01:32:35:06 01:32:36:08 preexisting conditions. 01:32:36:09 01:32:36:15 That's right. 01:32:36:19 01:32:38:01 So your administration is in court 01:32:38:02 01:32:39:19 right now trying to get rid of that 01:32:39:23 01:32:40:12 protection. 01:32:40:13 01:32:42:04 In order to replace it with a much 01:32:42:18 01:32:44:03 better health care at a much 01:32:44:19 01:32:45:23 lower price. 01:32:45:24 01:32:46:23 And always under 01:32:48:02 01:32:49:18 all circumstances, we are going to 01:32:49:23 01:32:51:21 protect. The Republicans - and 01:32:51:22 01:32:53:14 I mean, maybe I changed the party a 01:32:53:15 01:32:55:01 lot over the last three years - but 01:32:55:11 01:32:56:19 we will protect people with 01:32:56:25 01:32:58:03 preexisting conditions. 01:32:58:07 01:32:59:18 And Savannah, what I want to do is 01:33:00:01 01:33:01:19 get rid of the terrible 01:33:02:05 01:33:03:03 Obamacare - I've already done it to 01:33:03:04 01:33:04:24 a large extent because, as you know, 01:33:04:25 01:33:06:05 the individual mandate is 01:33:06:21 01:33:08:18 gone. That was the worst part of it. 01:33:08:19 01:33:09:16 You've repealed but you have it replaced 01:33:09:17 01:33:11:13 now. You've been in office for 01:33:12:00 01:33:12:11 almost four years - 01:33:12:12 01:33:12:21 We have done - 01:33:12:22 01:33:14:04 You had you had both houses of 01:33:14:16 01:33:16:02 Congress, Senate and House in 01:33:16:15 01:33:17:15 Republican hands. 01:33:17:22 01:33:19:09 And there is not a replacement yet. 01:33:19:18 01:33:20:23 That's right. I'm sorry, but if you 01:33:21:04 01:33:22:03 look, we had both houses. 01:33:22:04 01:33:23:12 What did we do? We got rid of the 01:33:23:13 01:33:24:14 individual mandate that went through the legislature 01:33:24:16 01:33:24:20 - 01:33:24:21 01:33:26:00 But the problem is with repeal and 01:33:26:14 01:33:26:22 replace. 01:33:26:23 01:33:28:15 Look, look, we should be on the same 01:33:28:24 01:33:30:09 side. I want it very simple. 01:33:30:13 01:33:31:19 I'm going to put it very simple. 01:33:31:20 01:33:33:10 We would like to terminate it and 01:33:33:15 01:33:35:00 we would like to replace it with 01:33:35:01 01:33:36:19 something that's much less expensive 01:33:36:21 01:33:37:21 and much better. 01:33:38:03 01:33:39:23 We will always protect people with 01:33:39:24 01:33:40:25 preexisting conditions - 01:33:40:26 01:33:42:25 , those 01:33:42:26 01:33:43:25 preexisting conditions. 01:33:43:26 01:33:45:04 We will be fine. 01:33:45:09 01:33:46:12 If we don't succeed, we 01:33:47:05 01:33:48:13 are running the remnants of 01:33:48:18 01:33:50:10 whatever's left because we took it 01:33:50:20 01:33:52:11 apart. We are running the remnants 01:33:52:13 01:33:54:07 of whatever is left much better than 01:33:54:11 01:33:56:03 the previous administration, which 01:33:56:04 01:33:57:03 ran it very badly. 01:33:57:20 01:33:59:00 But we'd like to have new 01:33:59:18 01:34:01:01 health care much better and 01:34:01:14 01:34:02:14 much less expensive. 01:34:02:15 01:34:04:01 Let me get to question number 01:34:04:10 01:34:05:06 five, and you'll like this. 01:34:05:07 01:34:06:07 He's stuck in traffic. 01:34:06:09 01:34:08:01 His name is Joe White. 01:34:08:04 01:34:09:11 He is registered as a 01:34:10:01 01:34:11:01 Democrat. He says he's leaning 01:34:11:15 01:34:13:10 toward Biden and 01:34:13:12 01:34:15:03 voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016. 01:34:15:04 01:34:16:14 And his question was a second 01:34:16:22 01:34:18:05 stimulus payment has been broadly 01:34:18:06 01:34:19:15 agreed upon by the Republicans and 01:34:20:03 01:34:21:04 Democrats. And now we're in October 01:34:21:05 01:34:22:10 and it's still not passed. 01:34:22:11 01:34:23:22 Why not use your office to make the 01:34:23:23 01:34:25:14 second stimulus payment a separate 01:34:25:23 01:34:27:11 targeted emergency relief 01:34:27:22 01:34:29:07 package to help Americans weather 01:34:29:08 01:34:29:14 the pandemic. 01:34:29:15 01:34:30:22 Well we've actually passed three 01:34:31:14 01:34:32:14 packages, we're on our fourth. And 01:34:33:17 01:34:34:22 I agree with him, one hundred 01:34:35:07 01:34:36:08 percent, he should vote for me. 01:34:36:09 01:34:37:18 The problem you have is Nancy 01:34:38:06 01:34:39:10 Pelosi. She couldn't care less about 01:34:39:11 01:34:41:01 the worker. She couldn't care less 01:34:41:03 01:34:42:03 about our people. 01:34:42:21 01:34:44:07 And we should have a stimulus. 01:34:44:09 01:34:45:11 And I want a stimulus. 01:34:45:15 01:34:46:23 The Republicans will approve a 01:34:47:12 01:34:49:04 stimulus. The problem is she doesn't 01:34:49:05 01:34:50:11 want to do it because she thinks 01:34:50:21 01:34:52:08 it's bad for her election. 01:34:52:12 01:34:54:04 The fact is she's wrong 01:34:54:09 01:34:55:20 because people know she's in our 01:34:56:05 01:34:57:05 way. She's not approving it. 01:34:57:14 01:34:59:07 She doesn't appreciate our people 01:34:59:08 01:35:00:25 and she doesn't approve - appreciate 01:35:00:26 01:35:01:25 at all our workers. 01:35:02:06 01:35:03:13 Nancy Pelosi, we are ready 01:35:04:11 01:35:06:05 to sign and pass 01:35:06:23 01:35:07:22 stimulus, but she's going to - 01:35:07:23 01:35:08:21 People do not love the back and forth 01:35:08:22 01:35:10:11 of Washington. But this has been a 01:35:10:12 01:35:11:11 roller coaster. 01:35:12:11 01:35:14:04 Back in early October, you one day 01:35:14:05 01:35:16:06 tweeted "no more negotiations 01:35:16:09 01:35:17:09 until 01:35:18:10 01:35:19:06 after Election Day. 01:35:19:07 01:35:20:24 I'm walking away." Then I think the 01:35:21:03 01:35:22:14 next couple of days she said maybe 01:35:22:15 01:35:23:25 we can do something targeted. 01:35:24:09 01:35:25:22 Then you said, I want a big, big 01:35:26:07 01:35:28:02 bill. But then Senate Republicans 01:35:28:09 01:35:30:10 said, no, we're not for that. 01:35:30:13 01:35:32:03 So you're the big deal 01:35:32:12 01:35:32:17 maker. 01:35:32:18 01:35:34:17 What this is. So you yourself 01:35:35:16 01:35:37:03 Did you ever hear of a word 01:35:37:17 01:35:39:00 called negotiation? 01:35:39:10 01:35:40:24 We're negotiating OK. 01:35:41:11 01:35:43:01 The people are negotiating, lives 01:35:43:02 01:35:44:01 are hanging, you know 01:35:44:17 01:35:45:24 And you know who I'm negotiating 01:35:46:00 01:35:47:13 against Nancy Pelosi because she 01:35:47:17 01:35:48:21 doesn't want to give the money. 01:35:48:22 01:35:50:01 We should have stimulus. 01:35:50:09 01:35:51:23 This was not for people's fault. 01:35:52:01 01:35:53:04 This was China's fault. 01:35:53:16 01:35:55:05 And she's penalizing our people. 01:35:55:06 01:35:56:23 I'm ready to sign a big, beautiful 01:35:57:04 01:35:58:17 stimulus. You saw the other 01:35:59:01 01:36:00:13 day - I said go big or go home. 01:36:00:14 01:36:00:17 Right. 01:36:00:21 01:36:01:03 That's what. 01:36:01:04 01:36:02:03 I want it to be big. 01:36:02:07 01:36:03:07 I want it to be bold. 01:36:03:12 01:36:04:20 I want the money go to direct. 01:36:05:08 01:36:06:06 Applicants with you. They're going 01:36:06:07 01:36:07:06 to go big number. 01:36:08:01 01:36:09:07 They'll go they're going to be very 01:36:09:08 01:36:09:09 far. 01:36:09:18 01:36:10:23 They have not because. 01:36:10:24 01:36:12:01 I haven't asked them to because I 01:36:12:02 01:36:13:14 can't get through Nancy Pelosi. 01:36:14:10 01:36:16:13 If Nancy Pelosi and I 01:36:16:21 01:36:18:09 through my representatives or 01:36:18:22 01:36:20:04 directly - I don't care - if we 01:36:20:05 01:36:21:22 agree to something, the Republicans 01:36:22:00 01:36:23:00 will agree to it. 01:36:23:05 01:36:25:01 OK, our next question comes from 01:36:25:13 01:36:26:16 - oh, this is interesting. She voted 01:36:26:17 01:36:28:07 for Clinton in 2016, but recently 01:36:28:15 01:36:30:12 changed her registration from 01:36:30:13 01:36:31:17 Democrat to independent. 01:36:32:07 01:36:33:19 She says she's truly undecided. 01:36:33:24 01:36:35:16 Her name's Becky Leitman. 01:36:35:22 01:36:37:11 Hello, Becky. What's your question? 01:36:37:12 01:36:38:04 How are you? 01:36:38:05 01:36:39:03 Hi, I'm great. How are you? 01:36:39:04 01:36:39:23 Nice to see you. 01:36:39:24 01:36:40:03 Thank you. 01:36:40:04 01:36:40:24 Good to see you. 01:36:41:00 01:36:42:01 So corporate tax rates 01:36:43:05 01:36:44:12 are a hot button issue and 01:36:45:07 01:36:47:01 you have cut corporate tax rates 01:36:47:07 01:36:48:17 and your opponent, Joe Biden, is 01:36:48:18 01:36:49:21 planning to raise them. 01:36:49:22 01:36:49:24 Right. 01:36:50:17 01:36:52:03 A lot of Americans think that 01:36:52:07 01:36:53:23 corporations don't pay their share 01:36:54:04 01:36:55:21 of taxes and want to see those tax 01:36:56:04 01:36:57:04 rates increase. 01:36:57:17 01:36:59:13 What do you say to those Americans 01:36:59:16 01:37:01:23 to maybe tell them why 01:37:02:02 01:37:03:15 you want the corporate tax rate 01:37:03:19 01:37:05:20 lower and why that helps 01:37:06:01 01:37:06:05 them? 01:37:06:06 01:37:07:04 It's a great question. 01:37:07:05 01:37:08:14 We've created more jobs than 01:37:09:01 01:37:10:13 this country has ever created. 01:37:10:14 01:37:11:23 We're up to one hundred sixty 01:37:11:25 01:37:12:20 million jobs. 01:37:12:21 01:37:14:02 We were never even close to that 01:37:14:12 01:37:15:19 number. We were just hitting one 01:37:15:20 01:37:17:07 hundred and sixty million jobs. 01:37:17:11 01:37:18:23 Companies are pouring into our 01:37:19:00 01:37:20:13 nation because of the tax rate. 01:37:20:23 01:37:22:15 And if Biden comes in and raises 01:37:22:16 01:37:24:07 taxes on everybody, including middle 01:37:24:08 01:37:26:02 income taxes, which he wants to do, 01:37:26:05 01:37:27:16 you will blow this thing and you'll 01:37:27:17 01:37:29:08 end up with a depression the likes 01:37:29:14 01:37:30:16 of which you've never had. 01:37:30:17 01:37:32:02 That's what's going to happen. 01:37:32:03 01:37:33:12 We have something that's really 01:37:33:16 01:37:34:17 good. The reason we're coming back 01:37:34:18 01:37:36:08 so strong is because we built a very 01:37:36:09 01:37:37:08 strong foundation. 01:37:37:21 01:37:38:25 Companies are moving in. 01:37:39:07 01:37:40:20 Car companies are moving into 01:37:41:19 01:37:43:06 Michigan, into Ohio, into South 01:37:43:07 01:37:45:02 Carolina and North Carolina - 01:37:45:06 01:37:46:18 just today. So what's happening 01:37:47:02 01:37:48:07 is they're coming in because we 01:37:48:08 01:37:49:22 reduced the taxes, our 01:37:50:11 01:37:51:16 taxes, our corporate taxes were the 01:37:51:17 01:37:52:25 highest in the world and now 01:37:53:14 01:37:55:04 they're among the lower 01:37:55:18 01:37:56:22 taxes. They're not the lowest, but 01:37:56:24 01:37:58:05 they're among the lowest. 01:37:58:11 01:37:59:20 And what that means is jobs. 01:38:00:01 01:38:01:09 But also we're doing a very 01:38:02:05 01:38:04:02 big - and we've done - a very big 01:38:04:08 01:38:05:15 middle income tax package. 01:38:06:10 01:38:07:14 So if we get in, we're going to do 01:38:07:15 01:38:08:22 the middle income tax package. 01:38:08:23 01:38:10:06 But it's a great question. 01:38:10:09 01:38:12:03 If he comes along and raises 01:38:12:12 01:38:13:18 rates, all those companies that are 01:38:13:19 01:38:15:16 coming in, they will leave the 01:38:15:17 01:38:16:17 US so fast, your head 01:38:17:14 01:38:19:07 will spin. We can't let that happen. 01:38:19:14 01:38:20:22 On the subject of taxes, as 01:38:21:11 01:38:22:12 you know, with The New York Times 01:38:22:13 01:38:23:22 has obtained, it says, years 01:38:24:14 01:38:25:18 of your tax returns. 01:38:25:19 01:38:27:12 Among other things, it says that you 01:38:27:14 01:38:29:03 have debts of approximately four 01:38:29:08 01:38:30:18 hundred twenty one million dollars 01:38:30:19 01:38:32:17 that you have personally guaranteed 01:38:32:18 01:38:34:06 and that will come due in the next 01:38:34:07 01:38:35:06 four years. 01:38:35:09 01:38:36:21 The question is, on behalf of 01:38:37:06 01:38:38:15 voters, who do you owe four hundred 01:38:38:16 01:38:39:20 twenty one million dollars to? 01:38:39:25 01:38:40:21 OK, first of all let me answer - 01:38:40:22 01:38:42:19 what they did is illegal number one. 01:38:43:12 01:38:44:22 Also, the numbers are all wrong with 01:38:44:23 01:38:46:00 the numbers they released. 01:38:46:02 01:38:47:21 And just so you understand, when you 01:38:47:22 01:38:49:07 have a lot of real estate - I have 01:38:49:10 01:38:51:01 real estate, you know, a lot of it, 01:38:51:02 01:38:52:03 OK right down the road 01:38:52:23 01:38:54:22 [inaudible]. Big stuff, great 01:38:55:06 01:38:57:04 stuff. I'm very under - when I 01:38:57:06 01:38:58:06 decided to run. 01:38:58:07 01:39:00:14 I'm very under levered, 01:39:01:01 01:39:02:01 fortunately, but I'm very under 01:39:02:12 01:39:04:05 leverage. I have a very, very small 01:39:04:07 01:39:05:24 percentage of debt compared - in 01:39:06:09 01:39:07:22 fact, some of it I did as favors to 01:39:07:23 01:39:09:15 institutions that wanted to loan me 01:39:09:20 01:39:11:12 money. Four hundred million dollars 01:39:11:13 01:39:13:03 -compared to the assets that I 01:39:13:15 01:39:15:02 have, all of these great properties 01:39:15:03 01:39:16:03 all over the world. 01:39:16:04 01:39:17:17 And frankly, 01:39:18:02 01:39:19:25 the Bank of America building in San 01:39:20:21 01:39:21:18 Francisco. I don't love what's 01:39:21:19 01:39:23:01 happening to San Francisco. 01:39:23:04 01:39:24:04 You're right. It sounds like 01:39:25:18 01:39:27:06 million dollars isn't my 01:39:27:14 01:39:28:12 office buildings. 01:39:28:13 01:39:29:12 Are you - are you - are you 01:39:29:13 01:39:31:05 confirming that yes, you do own 01:39:31:16 01:39:33:03 some four hundred million dollars? 01:39:33:04 01:39:34:08 And what I'm saying is that it's a 01:39:34:09 01:39:36:09 tiny percentage of my net 01:39:36:18 01:39:36:24 worth. 01:39:37:00 01:39:37:10 That sounds like yes. 01:39:37:11 01:39:38:20 And you'll see that soon because 01:39:39:01 01:39:40:20 we're doing things - 01:39:40:21 01:39:41:15 you know, we've given I think it's one 01:39:41:19 01:39:42:21 hundred and eight or one hundred and 01:39:42:22 01:39:44:21 twelve pages of financial details 01:39:45:02 01:39:46:02 to elections. 01:39:46:14 01:39:48:06 And, you know, we have to file - as 01:39:48:07 01:39:49:12 the president, as any 01:39:50:04 01:39:51:03 politician, you have to file. 01:39:51:04 01:39:52:14 Nobody ever looks at that. 01:39:52:16 01:39:53:23 When they do, they see how 01:39:54:02 01:39:55:09 incredible the company is. 01:39:55:10 01:39:56:17 But more importantly, they 01:39:57:10 01:39:58:20 see where this debt is. 01:39:59:06 01:40:00:16 No, I don't owe Russia money. 01:40:00:21 01:40:01:21 I don't know owe 01:40:02:19 01:40:04:02 - I owe very small - it's called 01:40:04:17 01:40:06:02 mortgages. People have a house, they 01:40:06:03 01:40:06:16 put a mortgage - 01:40:06:17 01:40:07:16 Any foreign bank? Any foreign 01:40:07:17 01:40:07:25 entity? 01:40:07:26 01:40:09:08 Not that I know of. But I will 01:40:09:09 01:40:11:04 probably - because it's so easy to 01:40:11:16 01:40:13:03 solve. And if you'd like to do, I 01:40:13:04 01:40:15:02 will let you know who - who 01:40:15:03 01:40:16:18 I know whatever small amount of 01:40:16:23 01:40:18:04 money. I want to say two things. 01:40:18:05 01:40:19:13 Number one, it's a very small amount 01:40:19:14 01:40:20:09 of money. 01:40:20:10 01:40:22:00 Number two, it's very 01:40:22:16 01:40:24:10 straight. It's very, very straight. 01:40:24:12 01:40:26:10 But it's a tiny percentage of 01:40:26:11 01:40:27:15 the worth. 01:40:27:22 01:40:29:03 Did you ever hear the expression 01:40:29:04 01:40:30:03 under levered? 01:40:30:04 01:40:30:05 Yes. 01:40:30:06 01:40:31:15 I am extremely under levered. 01:40:31:20 01:40:33:00 Here's the thing. You could clear 01:40:33:01 01:40:34:16 this up tonight by just releasing 01:40:34:19 01:40:35:24 your tax returns yourself. 01:40:36:00 01:40:36:09 I mean -. 01:40:36:10 01:40:38:07 I think people are just 01:40:38:08 01:40:39:10 what are you talking about? 01:40:39:19 01:40:41:12 It turned out that I am wrong to say 01:40:41:13 01:40:42:12 actually that. 01:40:43:01 01:40:45:00 No, no. But that doesn't stop 01:40:45:01 01:40:46:01 the release. 01:40:46:07 01:40:47:04 You accused me of not being under 01:40:47:05 01:40:48:04 audit previously. 01:40:48:05 01:40:48:12 That did not - 01:40:48:13 01:40:50:07 And so did other people at NBC. 01:40:51:06 01:40:51:14 You are. 01:40:51:15 01:40:52:18 And I am under audit - so that was 01:40:52:19 01:40:54:11 solved, that's good - I am under it. 01:40:54:19 01:40:56:12 No person in their right mind would 01:40:56:19 01:40:59:01 release prior to working 01:40:59:02 01:41:00:07 out the deal with the IRS. 01:41:00:10 01:41:01:16 And I'll go a step further. 01:41:01:17 01:41:03:11 I'm treated very badly by the 01:41:03:24 01:41:05:16 IRS. They treat me very, very badly. 01:41:05:17 01:41:06:19 You have people in there from 01:41:06:20 01:41:07:25 previous administrations. 01:41:08:10 01:41:09:16 They treat me very badly. 01:41:09:19 01:41:11:18 But we're under audit. 01:41:11:21 01:41:13:08 It's very routine in many 01:41:13:18 01:41:14:16 ways, but we're under audit. 01:41:14:17 01:41:16:10 They like to change the game, change 01:41:16:13 01:41:17:17 the rules to everything. 01:41:17:22 01:41:19:05 You saw what they did with the Tea 01:41:19:06 01:41:20:20 Party people. You saw what they did 01:41:20:21 01:41:21:22 with the religious group. 01:41:21:23 01:41:23:10 But to be clear there is no law or 01:41:23:11 01:41:24:20 rule that prohibits you from 01:41:25:10 01:41:26:15 releasing your tax returns - 01:41:27:06 01:41:28:03 No, except common sense and 01:41:28:04 01:41:29:23 intelligence and having lawyers to 01:41:30:09 01:41:31:14 say - because I would love to 01:41:31:15 01:41:33:14 release them and as soon as we 01:41:33:19 01:41:35:19 come to a conclusion, I will release 01:41:35:20 01:41:36:19 them and very gladly. 01:41:36:20 01:41:38:13 But if you go to 01:41:38:17 01:41:40:12 elections and if you take a 01:41:40:18 01:41:41:18 look, you'll see one hundred and 01:41:41:19 01:41:42:19 twelve, I think it's one hundred and 01:41:43:01 01:41:44:17 twelve. It talks about the income, 01:41:44:18 01:41:45:22 which is rather massive. 01:41:46:06 01:41:47:11 It talks about all of the 01:41:47:15 01:41:49:07 properties, they have them listed. 01:41:49:16 01:41:50:22 You can never learn more. 01:41:51:07 01:41:52:11 But you know what happened? 01:41:52:12 01:41:53:06 People went there. 01:41:53:07 01:41:54:08 All the reporters went. 01:41:54:09 01:41:55:16 It was like a feeding frenzy. 01:41:55:17 01:41:57:07 This was originally when I filed it. 01:41:57:08 01:41:58:20 And I file it every year. 01:41:58:21 01:42:00:06 I updated every year. 01:42:00:10 01:42:01:10 My son is here. 01:42:01:14 01:42:02:14 They run the company. 01:42:02:15 01:42:03:13 I don't run the company. 01:42:03:14 01:42:04:23 It also says that you pay 750 dollars in taxes in the year you were 01:42:04:24 01:42:05:14 elected - is that true or not? 01:42:05:15 01:42:05:22 And even though 01:42:06:03 01:42:08:00 taxes and the here you are like 01:42:08:24 01:42:09:21 a story. 01:42:09:22 01:42:10:22 No, that's a statutory number - I 01:42:11:19 01:42:12:20 think it's a filing number. 01:42:12:21 01:42:14:05 You pay seven hundred and fifty. 01:42:14:06 01:42:15:11 It's a filing fee - 01:42:15:14 01:42:16:09 Is that all you paid? Most people 01:42:16:10 01:42:17:02 here probably paid more. 01:42:17:03 01:42:18:10 No, I don't know. I can tell you 01:42:18:19 01:42:19:15 this. 01:42:19:16 01:42:21:17 If they have my tax 01:42:22:05 01:42:23:08 returns, as you know, they have to 01:42:23:09 01:42:24:24 go to jail. It's illegal. 01:42:25:11 01:42:26:22 But their numbers were wrong. 01:42:27:06 01:42:29:02 But let me tell you what else. 01:42:29:22 01:42:31:01 I don't owe money to any 01:42:31:19 01:42:33:05 of these sinister people. 01:42:33:11 01:42:34:14 This has been going on for years 01:42:34:19 01:42:36:04 now. Russia, Russia, Russia, turned 01:42:36:05 01:42:37:04 out to be a hoax. 01:42:37:05 01:42:38:19 And it turned out to be that Hillary 01:42:38:20 01:42:40:06 Clinton and the Democrats were 01:42:40:14 01:42:42:07 dealing with Russia, not me. 01:42:42:11 01:42:43:11 It's a whole hoax. 01:42:43:13 01:42:44:13 So I would not mind 01:42:45:17 01:42:46:22 at all saying who it is. 01:42:47:12 01:42:49:01 But it's a very small - when you 01:42:49:02 01:42:50:23 look at vast properties, like I have 01:42:50:24 01:42:51:18 and they're big and they're 01:42:51:19 01:42:53:10 beautiful and they're well located - 01:42:53:14 01:42:55:04 when you look at that, the amount 01:42:55:13 01:42:56:14 of money - four hundred million 01:42:56:15 01:42:57:15 dollars is a peanut. 01:42:57:19 01:42:59:09 It's extremely under levered. 01:42:59:17 01:43:01:21 And it's levered with normal 01:43:02:11 01:43:03:13 banks. Not a big deal. 01:43:03:14 01:43:04:19 All right, let's take a break. 01:43:04:20 01:43:05:25 We'll get more voter questions right 01:43:05:26 01:43:06:25 after this. 01:43:06:26 01:43:08:12 We are live in Miami in the middle of a town hall with president Trump. 01:43:08:13 01:43:09:24 Thank you for being here. We've got another voter Adam Sugar. He voted 01:43:10:00 01:43:11:11 for Hilary Clinton in 2016. He's registered as a democrat and says he's 01:43:11:12 01:43:12:05 supporting Biden. Adam, take it away. 01:43:12:06 01:43:13:15 Thank you Savannah, thank you Mr President. Four year aga, Senate 01:43:13:16 01:43:15:00 leadership said it was inappropriate to push through a nominee in an 01:43:15:01 01:43:16:13 election year. Yet they fast-tracked your nominee for the supreme court, 01:43:16:14 01:43:18:01 just today. The question I have for you, is how do you...what do you say 01:43:18:02 01:43:19:14 to the voter who thinks it's hypocritical to act in that manner and they 01:43:19:15 01:43:20:06 can't trust the Republicans word? 01:43:20:07 01:43:21:19 So, when I was elected, and when a president is elected, they're elected 01:43:21:20 01:43:23:06 for a period of four years, and justice Ginsberg said it best, I think 01:43:23:07 01:43:24:18 talking about President Obama having to do with somebody else, that the 01:43:24:19 01:43:26:04 president is put there for four years. Not for three years, so during 01:43:26:05 01:43:27:16 this forth year, it happened to come up, unfortunately, because I had 01:43:27:17 01:43:29:02 great respect for Justice Ginsberg, but a vacancy happened to come up, 01:43:29:03 01:43:30:15 and we picked somebody that's outstanding. She has been an absolute star 01:43:30:16 01:43:32:03 and I'm extremely proud of it, but again, plenty of time, I mean there's 01:43:32:04 01:43:33:14 plenty of time, I mean, we're going to do it before the election, but 01:43:33:15 01:43:35:02 there's much time after the election, there's no reason to wait. Because 01:43:35:03 01:43:36:14 it's almost unanimous to me, certainly within the Republican party, and 01:43:36:15 01:43:38:03 frankly, most of the Democrats, within closed rooms, I guarentee you that 01:43:38:04 01:43:39:15 this is an outstanding person, and, I'm using my full term. And if you 01:43:39:16 01:43:41:00 look at it, if you put the shoe on the other foot. If they had this, 01:43:41:01 01:43:42:13 they'd do it, one hundred percent. So there's been twenty nine this has 01:43:42:14 01:43:43:25 happened, and all twenty nine time, the president has done exactly what 01:43:43:26 01:43:44:05 I've done. 01:43:44:06 01:43:45:18 To the voters point, and I'll just say, that in 2016, you were on another 01:43:45:19 01:43:46:13 show, actually, another morning show, 01:43:46:14 01:43:52:24 and you were asked whether President Obama should nominate a Supreme Court justice, Merrick Garland. And you said, I think the Senate should wait until the next president and let the president pick. Now, that was eight months before the election. This is three weeks before. You have changed your position. 01:43:53:00 01:44:04:04 I have a lot of respect for Judge Garland. I want to tell you that. But I'll tell you, the whole ballgame changed when I saw the way they treated Justice Kavanaugh. I have never seen any human being - and I'm not just talking about Supreme Court - I have never seen a human being treated so badly with false accusations and severything else. I have never seen anything like it. And you know what the truth is, Savannah? Like it or not, the ballgame changed a lot. There has never been anybody treated so badly as now Justice Kavanaugh. 01:44:04:05 01:44:08:05 You've mentioned that you would like to see Amy Coney Barrett confirmed to the Supreme Court in case any challenges come up in connection with the election. Do you expect her to rule for you? 01:44:08:06 01:44:22:03 I think she'll have to make that decision. I don't think she has any conflict at all. You know, a Supreme Court judge does not have - I mean, they can make their own decision. They actually have additional power to make that decision. It would be totally up to her. I would think that she would be able to rule either for me or against me. I don't see any conflict whatsoever. We have an election coming up. I think it's the most important election in the history of our country. If for any chance - and it probably won't and I hope it doesn't ever get to the Supreme Court - but if it did, I would think that she would rule one way or the other. I would think so. 01:44:22:04 01:44:23:03 But for you. You think she would rule for you? 01:44:23:04 01:44:23:10 I have no idea. 01:44:23:11 01:44:24:16 I mean, of course she'll rule one way or the other, but -. 01:44:24:17 01:44:36:21 But believe it or not, I'd never asked her about it. I never talked about it. I didn't talk about any of the obvious things that you could talk about. And I think a lot of people in my position might. But in speaking to a lot of very brilliant people and people that do this for a living, they say it's better not to talk. So I talk to her about life. I talk to her about the fact, would you like to do this? Are you willing to do this? Because it's a tremendous burden. The answer is yes. She is unbelievably well qualified. But I never spoke to her about these various questions. 01:44:36:22 01:44:40:14 Let's get our next voter. She's leaning to you, Mr. President. She voted for you in 2016. She is a registered Republican. Her name is Mariah Green. Mariah, what's your question? 01:44:40:15 01:44:40:24 Thank you very much. 01:44:40:25 01:44:48:05 Thank you. Good evening, Mr. President. I'm honored to be with you here tonight, sir. So thank you. I'm a pro-life millennial. And my question for you today is, if Roe v. Wade is ultimately overturned in the future, what protections would be put in place or kept for where the mother's life is in jeopardy in relation to high risk pregnancies? 01:44:48:06 01:45:05:18 Well, again, I'm not ruling on this, and Roe v. Wade is something that a lot of people say, obviously, you're going to speak to somebody - I also - two other other great justices, Justice Gorsuch and Justice Kavanaugh. I never spoke to them about Roe v. Wade. I never spoke to them about election laws. I never spoke to them about anything. And I've done the right thing from a moral standpoint. I don't even know from a legal standpoint, but it was the right thing. I think depending on what happens with Roe v. Wade, I think that perhaps it could get sent down to the states and the states would decide. I also think perhaps nothing will happen. I have not talked to her about it. I think it would be inappropriate to talk to her about it. And some people would say, you can talk to her about it. I just think would be inappropriate. 01:45:05:19 01:45:08:23 But what is your preference? Because, agreed. That's not something you should talk to the judge about. But would you like to see Roe vs. Wade overturned? 01:45:08:24 01:45:20:00 I would I would like to see a brilliant jurist, a brilliant person who has done this in great depth and has actually skirted this issue for a long time make a decision. And that's why I chose her. I think that she's going to make a great decision. I did not tell her what decision to make. And I think would be inappropriate to say right now, because I don't want to do anything to influence her. I want her to get approved. And then I want her to go by the law. And I know she's going to make a great decision for our country. 01:45:20:01 01:45:20:16 A lot of her life, Republican. 01:45:20:17 01:45:22:12 Most pro-life Republicans would like to see Roe v. Wade overturned and abortion banned. 01:45:22:13 01:45:22:22 Many of them would. 01:45:22:23 01:45:23:06 What do you think? 01:45:23:07 01:45:32:06 Perhaps most of them would. I am telling you, I don't want to do anything to influence anything right now. I don't want to go out tomorrow and say, oh, he's trying to give her a signal because I didn't speak to her about it. I've done the right thing in so doing. How she's going to rule, you're going to find out perhaps, or you might not find out. I mean, it may never get there. It may never get there. We'll see what happens. 01:45:32:07 01:45:36:17 All right. We have another question. This is Cindy Vélez. She is undecided. She says she's leaning to Biden and she did vote for Clinton in 2016. She's registered as a Democrat. Hi, Cindy. What's your question? 01:45:36:18 01:45:37:18 Good evening, Savannah. Good evening Mr. President. 01:45:37:19 01:45:38:04 [Thank you very much. 01:45:38:05 01:45:49:13 As the mother of a young male of color, I have reason to respect authority, not only because it's the right thing to do, but also out of fear that he may face profiling or be considered a criminal. As an educator, I've also had similar conversations with my high school students. Mr. President, what will you and your administration do to better prepare our law enforcement officers to work in collaboration with the communities that they serve and also to protect the lives of innocent black and Latinos from police brutality and injustice? 01:46:19:11 01:46:53:10 Right. I fully understand the question. And I saw everything that you saw over the summer. And it was a terrible thing, a terrible thing to watch. We were very strongly - we have a a senator named Tim Scott from South Carolina. He came up with a bill that should have been approved. It was great. It was a bill that was strong in terms of law enforcement and strong in terms of enforcing the proper thing and doing the proper thing by law enforcement. And the Democrats just wouldn't go for it. They wouldn't go for it at all. And I don't know why, because it was a really great bill. But I do have to say this. And some people don't like it when I say it, but a lot of people agree. I have done more for the African-American community than any president, with the exception of Abraham Lincoln. Criminal justice reform, prison reform, historically black colleges and universities - I got them funded. They were on a year to year basis. They could have been put out of business. As soon as our country had a little bad year, they would have said, "I'm sorry, we're not going to fund you." I got them 10 year funding and financing and more than they even asked for. I became very friendly with a lot of the heads, but we've done more - and of course, opportunity zones - but criminal justice reform, everybody said it could, it could not be done. President Obama and Biden never even tried to do it. They never even tried. But I say that and I say it often. I'll say it loud. And I'm very proud of it. And I have a great relationship because of what I've done with the African-American community. I'm very proud of it. 01:55:39:23 01:55:41:16 Let's go to our next question. We have Paulette Dale. She leans slightly to Biden. 01:55:41:17 01:55:42:07 She voted for Clinton in twenty 01:55:42:08 01:55:42:23 sixteen. She's registered as a 01:55:43:10 01:55:44:10 Republican. Paulette, what's your 01:55:44:14 01:55:45:13 question? Thank you. Good evening, 01:55:45:14 01:55:46:07 Mr. President. 01:55:46:08 01:55:46:25 Thank you very much. 01:55:47:00 01:55:48:13 I have to say, you have a great 01:55:48:14 01:55:49:13 smile. 01:55:50:01 01:55:51:01 Thank you Thank you. 01:55:51:02 01:55:52:10 OK. He does. You're so handsome when you smile. As the daughter of 01:55:52:11 01:55:53:24 immmigrants to the United States who fled Eastern Europe due to religious 01:55:54:00 01:55:55:12 persecution, the United States immigration policies are very personal for 01:55:55:13 01:55:56:23 me. Surveys show that most Americans and the majority of Republicans 01:55:56:24 01:55:58:11 support the Dreamers Program. So my question for you Mr. President, is if 01:55:58:12 01:55:59:24 you are elected to a second term, do you expect to pursue your previous 01:56:00:00 01:56:00:24 efforts to cut the DACA program? Why or why not? 01:56:01:00 01:56:02:08 Yeah. And the DACA - DACA is somewhat different than Dreamers. You 01:56:02:09 01:56:03:21 understand that. You understand that better than anyone probably in this 01:56:03:22 01:56:04:23 room. Where do you come from by the way originally? 01:56:04:24 01:56:05:21 My grandparents were from Russia and Poland. 01:56:05:22 01:56:07:09 That's very good. OK. So we're gonna take care of DACA. We're gonna take 01:56:07:10 01:56:08:22 of Dreamers. It's working right now. We're negotiating different aspects 01:56:08:23 01:56:10:10 of immigration and immigration law. We built now over four hundred miles 01:56:10:11 01:56:11:23 of border wall - southern border - Mexico's working very closely with us. 01:56:11:24 01:56:13:11 We have the strongest border we've ever had. We want people to come into 01:56:13:12 01:56:14:24 our country - they have to come in legally - but we are working very hard 01:57:22:12 01:57:23:17 on the DACA program. And you will be I think, very happy 01:57:23:18 01:57:25:01 over the course of the next year. 01:57:25:07 01:57:25:16 Thank you. 01:57:25:17 01:57:26:24 Because I feel the same way as you 01:57:26:25 01:57:27:12 do about it. 01:57:27:13 01:57:28:04 Thank you Mr. President. 01:57:28:05 01:57:29:05 Thank you. Thank you very much. 01:57:29:22 01:57:30:19 Mr. President, in point of fact, the 01:57:30:20 01:57:32:14 DACA program - there are, under your 01:57:33:08 01:57:34:23 administration, no new applicants 01:57:34:24 01:57:35:21 are allowed. 01:57:35:22 01:57:36:22 And in fact, the 01:57:36:23 01:57:38:08 DACA receipients now have to renew every year as opposed to every two 01:57:38:09 01:57:39:16 years. So in fact, the DACA program has been curtailed by your 01:58:07:22 01:58:08:05 administration. 01:58:08:06 01:58:09:15 Well what happened is because of the pandemic, much changed on the 01:58:09:16 01:58:11:02 immigration front. Mexico is heavily infected as you know and we've made 01:58:11:03 01:58:12:13 it very very difficult to come in because of the pandemic and other 01:58:12:14 01:58:13:24 reasons - and crime. But we have a very strong border right now and we 01:58:14:00 01:58:15:11 have to keep it that way. But, we want people to come into our country 01:58:15:12 01:58:16:24 but they have to come in through a merit system and they have to come in 01:58:17:00 01:58:17:17 legally. And people are very, very 01:58:17:18 01:58:17:24 happy with it. 01:58:18:00 01:58:18:16 You haven't heard any complaints 01:58:18:17 01:58:19:06 about that. But what happened 01:58:19:07 01:58:19:21 is because of the pandemic, 01:58:19:22 01:58:20:06 we have to be extra 01:58:20:07 01:58:20:10 cautious. 01:58:20:11 01:58:21:00 You have been promising this 01:58:21:01 01:58:21:17 immigration bill since, well, at 01:58:21:18 01:58:22:06 least July when you told my 01:58:22:07 01:58:23:13 colleague on Telemundo it was coming but nothing's come yet. 01:58:23:14 01:58:24:25 It's very happy - the factis we got rid of catch and release which is a 01:58:24:26 01:58:26:12 disaster - you know, you catch somebody, they could be a murderer, they 01:58:26:13 01:58:27:25 could be a rapist, and we're supposed ot release them into our country? 01:58:27:26 01:58:29:12 These are the laws that I inherited. We ended that program. Now I think 01:58:29:13 01:58:31:00 you're gonna see something very very good. The whole immigration - if you 01:58:31:01 01:58:32:10 loo at what's goign on, people used to pour into our country - and 01:58:32:11 01:58:33:21 especially during the pandemic, I think you'll be - I think even you 01:58:33:22 01:58:34:12 Savannah will be very impressed. 01:58:34:13 01:58:35:25 Sir we have about thirty seconds left. I think about people sitting out 01:58:35:26 01:58:37:10 there tonight. There are some who love you. Some of them are sitting 01:58:37:11 01:58:38:22 right around here. And some who will never vote for you. But there are 01:58:38:23 01:58:40:08 people in the middle, there are people who wanna know why they should 01:58:40:09 01:58:41:19 give you a second chance and how you might improve in a second term. 01:58:41:20 01:58:42:17 Thirty seconds - what would you say to them? 01:58:42:18 01:58:44:02 Because I've done a great job. We have the strongest economy in the 01:58:44:03 01:58:45:14 world. We closed it up. We are coming around the corner. Vaccines are 01:58:45:15 01:58:47:01 coming out soon. And our economy is strong. We are at a level with jobs 01:58:47:02 01:58:48:13 like we've never been before. We've rebuilt our military. We've rebuilt 01:58:48:14 01:58:50:02 our borders. We had no borders, we had no nothing. We've rebuilt so much. 01:58:50:03 01:58:51:12 We've given you the greatest tax cut in the history of our country, 01:58:51:13 01:58:52:04 greatest regulation cut - equally 01:59:37:20 01:59:38:15 as important. 01:59:38:16 01:59:39:21 And we created new levels 01:59:40:25 01:59:42:15 of jobs that nobody thought was 01:59:43:04 01:59:44:18 possible. And next year is going 01:59:45:02 01:59:46:14 to be better than ever before. 01:59:46:23 01:59:47:18 I got to leave it there. 01:59:47:19 01:59:48:18 I got it 01:59:50:00 01:59:50:25 a rap from the control room. Mr. 01:59:51:00 01:59:51:25 President, thank you for your time. 01:59:51:26 01:59:53:05 Thank you for listening to the voters. That concludes our 01:59:54:08 01:59:55:03 town hall. 01:59:55:04 01:59:56:10 We do want to thank the president 01:59:56:16 01:59:57:20 again, as well as our audience in 01:59:58:02 01:59:59:15 hot Miami and all of you watching at 01:59:59:22 02:00:01:14 home. And a reminder, Donald Trump 02:00:01:15 02:00:02:23 and Joe Biden are scheduled to meet 02:00:03:04 02:00:05:00 in person a week from tonight in 02:00:05:14 02:00:06:13 Nashville, a second and final 02:00:06:14 02:00:08:05 presidential debate moderated by our 02:00:08:06 02:00:09:12 own Christian Walker. 02:00:09:14 02:00:10:17 Have a good evening and thanks for 02:00:10:18 02:00:11:10 being with us.
